3 Benefits of Eating Healthy Plant Based Meals

A plant-based life has become something of a trend, with influencers eager to show off their avo smashed toast or celery juice rituals. 


A trend usually refers to something that is popular right now but eventually fades away to make way for the next hot thing waiting in line. 


When I talk about plant-based living, I refer to it as a lifestyle, meaning it’s something that is simply part of our day to day life, not just a passing trend and not something to stress out about either.


Switching to a plant-based lifestyle has a heap of benefits, not only for your health, but also for the planet! Of course we realize we are all beautiful, unique human beings and perhaps going fully plant-based sounds a little intimidating for you right now. That is okay! Baby steps, and small daily changes are what it’s all about, even switching up a few meals a week for a vegan alternative can make all the difference!

Inflammation is the root of disease. When you have a lot of internal inflammation going on, you are at a much higher risk of disease, so finding ways to decrease inflammation in your body is incredibly important. 


One of the best ways to do this is through your diet. Yes, it’s important to manage your stress levels, and exercise is key in any healthy lifestyle, but when you are eating right, your body can naturally better manage stress and you’ll feel far more motivated to get in that workout!


A diet rich in healthy fats, a rainbow of fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds, beans and legumes will help to fight inflammation so you can start to understand what the hype is around plant-based living. Of course when internal inflammation is reduced, this naturally translates to less external inflammation, clearer, calmer skin, and even less emotional agitation!

There’s no better natural mood booster than the foods you put into your body on a daily basis. Every single thing you eat has an impact on your mental health so be sure you make it good! The health of your gut dictates the health of your mind, when your gut is not functioning as it should your brain will produce less serotonin and you may feel depressed and anxious. 


A bonus tip is to start every day with a cup of warm water and the juice of half a lemon to wake up your digestive system and to prep it so it can fully absorb all the nutrients to follow.
